Former Miss World Canada, Tara Teng, played host at this powerful event on International Women's Day 2018. Featuring delicious canapes, a uniquely designed cocktail, and live DJ, over 150 entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders settled in an intimate gathering to hear special guest speaker, Jae Kim.
This event also highlighted the tremendous impact of Dress for Success Vancouver.

Former Miss World Canada, Tara Teng, hosts this powerful event on International Women's Day. Featuring delicious canapes, a welcome cocktail, and live DJ, you'll settle amongst an intimate gathering of entrepreneurs and community leaders to hear special guest speaker, Jae Kim. JAE KIM
Jae holds a law degree from Oxford University and a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Brown University. Her professional background spans the private, government and non-profit sectors. She spent a decade in the private sector in NYC, first as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and Prudential Securities, followed by a commercial and white-collar litigation practice at Shearman and Sterling. Jae was recruited to head up strategic partnerships at the Empire State Dev. Corporation, New York State's chief economic development agency, as an advisor to Governor Eliot Spitzer. Upon her move to Canada, Jae's career has focused in non-profit management, first as the founding president of the Streetohome Foundation and more recently as Deputy Director of the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership. Currently, she is the Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Radcliffe Foundation and her work is focused on initiatives that address the refugee crisis.
TARA TENG
Former Miss World Canada, Tara Teng, hosts this incredibly powerful event on March 8, 2018. As a past TEDx speaker, and CEO of Justly Market, Tara brings her passion for people and works to raise the socio-economic status of women and end human trafficking around the world.
Her advocacy work has helped pass new laws in Canada that protect victims of human trafficking and she established Canada's first Municipal Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking. She was Canada's "Woman of the Year" in 2011, nominated as one of the Globe and Mail's "Top 25 Most Transformational Canadians", and received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal in recognition of her vast human rights work.
Today, Tara is a mentor for young women through the Miss BC Leadership Program and is a mother of two young children. She blogs tips for a socially conscious lifestyle on her website and can be found on Twitter and Instagram as @misstarateng.
